Community News - Time-Cloak using Mirrors

Posted on August 19, 2013

As of this month, we will be including interesting news stories from around the world in the fields of metamaterials and spatial transformations, so that QUEST activities can be put into research and commercial context.

First up is a story from MIT Technology Review, regarding the creation of a time-cloak using mirrors. A time cloak creates a "hole in time" that is not observable. It can be imagined as first slowing down light then speeding it back up, allowing events happening within the "hole" to occur without external observation or detection that the hole was inserted.
