Dr Yangjie Liu

Researcher

Yangjié Liu (刘泱杰, Лю Янгджей, used to be known as Michael Luthervski) was born at Dafeng (大丰), Jiangsu, P. R. China. His general academic interests lie in optics and electromagnetics, especially in theory formulation and computation, as well as special relativity. He serves an OSA journal referee and AIP Phys. Plasmas reviewer. Contact also at liuyangjie at physics dot org.

In July 2014, he received his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Part of his PhD work involved computing Cerenkov Radiation from moving electrons in a spatially-varying medium (downloadable via https://repository.ntu.edu.sg/handle/10356/60623). From August 2014, he joined as a postdoctoral research assistant in the Antenna and Electromagnetics Group in Queen Mary, University of London, under the supervision of Prof. Yang Hao, as part of the QUEST project. He was looking at possible ways to consider optics in curved space. He has been supported by EPSRC, British Council (Newton Fund) Research Links Workshop Grant, OSA 2015 summer school travel grant, Antennas Group travel grant [EECSRC2/4a and LMS Caring Supplementary Grant [Ref. CC-15/16-09].
