Laura was involved in QUEST whilst studying for a PhD in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Exeter. Her research revolved around metamaterials and ferrite composite materials, with an emphasis on achieving independent control of the permeability and permittivity. One major application is impedance-matched materials.
