We are delighted to hear that Prof Sir John Pendry, one of the academic advisors to QUEST, has won the prestigious Newton Medal, the highest honour of the UK's Institute of Physics (IoP).
The award was made for his "seminal contributions to surface science, disordered systems and photonics", including metamaterials. The Newton medal and prize of £1,000 will be presented at a ceremony in London on 15 November, 2013. More details about the award are available on the IoP website.
