The QUEST-hosted European School of Antennas (ESoA) course “Transformation Electromagnetics for Antenna Design” was held at Queen Mary, University of London, between 22-25 October, 2012 and followed by a one-day Institution of Engineering and Technology Seminar on Transformation Optics on Friday 26 October, 2012.

Lecturers on the course were:

  • Prof Yang Hao, QMUL
  • Prof Stefano Maci, UNISI
  • Dr Tom Philbin, University of Exeter
  • Prof Doug Werner, Penn State University
  • Prof Ortwin Hess, Imperial College, London

The course had fifteen attendees from around Europe, including both PhD students and post-doctoral researchers. A COMSOL-based laboratory exercise formed the basis for assessment of the course. A social meal was held at Rodizio Rico at the O2.
