The QUEST team would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and successful 2014.
During the last two years, there have been a number of successes in the QUEST project:
1. The QUEST team has generated some novel ideas on the application of transformation optics. Papers have been published in Nature Scientific Reports and Physical Review Letters;
2. The QUEST research has attracted many industrial partners to work with us, to apply our new research findings into their future development of technologies;
3. The team has produced a number of home-grown postdocs with new knowledge to be carried forward to society, and some of them have started their independent academic careers by taking on faculty positions in universities, such as Warwick and KTH, Sweden.
4. Exeter's team has secured the funding for a Doctoral Training Centre from EPSRC for the next five years.
With less than three years to go, we have major tasks to accomplish. While the theory of transformation optics is getting more mature, there are still plenty of challenges that we are facing. We look forward to sharing news of these activities in 2014.
